Opening Keynote Speaker | Dr Stephen Bury

With only a few days to go to the ARLIS UK & Ireland conference, we look forward to welcoming our opening keynote speaker Dr Stephen Bury. His talk 'The Energy of Delusion' Revisited: The Futures of Art Librarianship will get the first conference session underway on Wednesday 12th July at 10.15am.

Dr Bury is Andrew W. Mellon Chief Librarian of the Frick Art Reference Library and a Director of the New York Art Resources Consortium (NYARC). Founded in 1920, the Frick Art Reference Library is now an integral part of The Frick Collection and serves as a singular resource for the study and appreciation of art and its history. Known internationally for its rich holdings of auction and exhibition catalogs, the Library is a leading site for collecting and provenance research.

Publications include: Artists’ Books (1995, 2015), Artists’ Multiples (2001) and Breaking the Rules (2007). He was also the first advisory editor of the online Benezit Dictionary of Artists.

Exhibitions include: For the Voice (1994), The Body and the Book (1996), Multiple Choice (1998), Breaking the Rules (2007) and Aphasic Disturbance (2011).
